Our commitment to ethical business practices and human rights.
Last updated: February 03, 2026
African Business Directory is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within its business and supply chain, and imposes the same high standards on its suppliers. This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
1 Our Structure and Business
We are a digital platform connecting businesses across the African continent. We work with a wide range of partners, suppliers, and business owners. We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business.
2 Our Policies
As part of our commitment to combating modern slavery, we have implemented the following policies:
- Ethical Trading Policy: We require all businesses listed on our directory to operate in accordance with ethical labor practices.
- Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage all employees, customers, and other business partners to report any concerns related to the direct activities, or the supply chains of, the organization.
- Supplier Code of Conduct: We are committed to ensuring that our suppliers adhere to the highest standards of ethics.
3 Due Diligence
We undertake due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers, and regularly review our existing suppliers. This includes evaluating the modern slavery and human trafficking risks of each new supplier and invoking sanctions against suppliers that fail to improve their performance in line with an action plan or seriously violate our supplier code of conduct.
4 Looking Ahead
We will continue to review and update our policies and procedures to ensure that we are doing everything we can to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking. We believe that this is a continuous process and we are committed to making year-on-year improvements.
